The Gigaset Dect Phones are cordless handheld phones which give you the freedom to move around, while the range of phones available means there is always one that meets your individual requirements and budget. 


A Gigaset Base Station is needed to work with the Dect phones, we have two choices of station to choose from depending on call volume and range.


If using a Gigaset N300 IP Base Station this allows you to receive up to 3 incoming calls simultaneously.  For instance if you are on a line then you can receive a further 2 incoming calls on that same line. 


If using the Gigaset N510 IP Base Station you can have up to 4 incoming calls simultaneously. 


You can have up to 6 Gigaset Dect phones connected up to a Base Station but be aware that you are limited to how many incoming and outgoing calls you can make from a base station.



Gigaset A540H Dect Phone:


The Gigaset A540H is the upgraded replacement for the extremely popular Gigaset A510H handset, the A540H comes with a modern slimmer, sleeker design.

The A540H Dect phone is ideal for use with the Gigaset N300IP Base Station


Please Note: This handset has only basic compatibility with the N510 IP Base Station as it provides limited compatibility where handsets can make and receive calls plus use call hold and transfer.

How to plug in headset into Gigaset Dect Phone?


On the Gigaset cordless Dect phone you will see a connection point for your headset on the side of the handset - this will be on the left hand-side of the handset - your Wantek/Plantronics headset will plug straight into this connection.


Faulty headset - please check: 


1. Check how you are using the headset:

  • Ensure the connector is not loose.
  • Ensure the mouth piece is not positioned too close to your mouth.
  • Ensure nothing is broken on the headset i.e. the fittings to go into socket are undamaged. 
  • Ensure the volume control is not turned to maximum volume.
  • Ensure you have bought a compatible headset not all headsets will work.


2. Please try using the phone handset itself without the headset - does this resolve the issue with the call quality that you experienced while using the headset? 


3. Check the internet to ensure adequate quality and speed to support your VoIP line as sometimes it is the line quality that is at fault and not the headset. Click here to carry out a speed test of your broadband connection. 


When the test has finished please email the results over to our Support Helpdesk.  Once we have checked the results we will come straight back to you to advise you further.


4. Have you recently changed internet provider? Or moved offices/location and using different broadband?


Please inform us of any changes you have made which may impact on your VoIP call quality and therefore use of your headset. 


If the headset is faulty then please contact our Support Helpdesk, if the headset is still in warranty we can arrange for a replacement headset to be sent to you.
