Ofcom changes to non-geographic numbers

As you may be aware, the way in which 08, 09 and 118 are charged will be changing from the 1st July 2015.

We are contacting you to make you aware of these changes and to inform you on how this is going to affect you as a customer.

New pricing structure

As of July 1st 2015 the pricing structure to make calls to numbers starting 08, 09 and 118 will change and will consist of two elements:

  1. Access Charge (AC): This element is the charge that we levy for the call to traverse our network.
  2. Service Charge (SC): This element is the charge that the terminating call provider levies.

The Ofcom led website http://www.ukcalling.info provides further information on the changes and why they are being implemented.

Further details with regards to Access Charges and Service charges will be sent later this month.

If you use these numbers for your clients to call you

If your customers use these number ranges to call you, then you must make sure that you comply with the new regulations when publishing them.

For more information, please visit the Ofcom led website http://www.ukcalling.info/industry.

Please note: You will not be able to dial a number starting with 09 from your VoIP line because we do not offer this service on your VoIP line as it is not economically viable.  If you need to call an 09 number you will need to make the call from a different phone line.
