The best way to handle this is to create a temporary tag - please click here to see how to create a new tag, in this example the temporary tag will be 'marketing-2016'.

How to send out an email campaign to a specific tag group:

1. Next, find the tag you want to send out to by doing a tag search to list all contacts with this tag - in this case the tag will be 'spring'.

2. View your contacts in List View

3. Select all the contacts in this tag group (spring) by placing a tick in the checkbox as shown below:

4. Click on the Tags button as shown below:

5. Next add the new temporary tag you have created 'marketing-2016' to all these contacts tagged as 'spring' - as shown in the example below:

6. Click on Update as shown above.    In the above example all contacts tagged as 'spring' are now also tagged as 'marketing-2016'

7. After the tag has been applied make sure you now go back to your main 'Contacts' page.

8. Next search on a tag group that you wish to exclude - such as 'new-lead' tag as shown in the example below:

9. With the tag 'new-lead' selected make sure you are in List View and select all contacts in this tag by applying a tick in the top left-hand checkbox as shown below:

10. Now click on the green Tags icon as shown below in red:

11. Inside the 'Edit Tags' window please click on the 'Remove these tag(s)' option as shown below:

12. Now select the new temporary tag 'marketing-2016' from the tag checkbox list as you are removing this tag group from those contacts tagged as 'new-lead'.

13. Click on the green 'Update' button to remove the tag 'marketing-2016' from the contact tagged as 'new-lead'.

14. If there are any other tags to exclude repeat steps 8 to 13 as shown above to ensure you exclude these tags from your temporary tag group.

15. Send your campaign out to your new temporary tag group you have created - which you can now be sure excludes the tag groups you wanted to exclude from the send.
