You can connect your PC directly into a Desk phone which will provide you with an additional LAN connection in your network - please read below to find out more:
The Desk phone must be connected to the local gateway as it must have an internet connection.
Use a shielded Ethernet cable (which is not supplied) to connect your Desk phone as follows:
1. Attach one end of the Ethernet cable to the right hand LAN port on the rear of the phone.
2. Attach the other end of the Ethernet cable to a LAN port on the Ethernet switch or on the router itself.
Connecting the PC
Your Desk phone has an integrated 2 port switch - this allows you to connect your PC to the local network via the phone and avoid using using additional connection ports on the switch or router.
The Ethernet cable supplied with your Desk phone is intended for this connection and not the switch or router. Please connect your PC to the phone as follows:
1. Connect the Ethernet cable provided to the left-hand port on the rear of the phone.
2. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on a PC.
So you will have two connections - one cable from the Desk phone directly into the Switch or Router and one cable (the one supplied with the Desk phone) which is connected from the desk phone to the LAN port on your PC as explained above.
