If you are finding that your no answer rate is increasing then this could be due to your business phone number having been incorrectly reported as spam.

If a business number has been reported by a customer, then future calls will flag up as 'Spam Caller' on a mobile device.  After a certain number of spam reports the number will be blocked.

As well as this, the phone companies use data and algorithms when looking at potential spam calls, which can result in your business line being incorrectly flagged as spam.

Although this is out of your control as such, there are measures you can take to prevent your business line from being incorrectly marked as spam.

These include:

  • Asking your customers to save your phone number so that they know you are calling them as it will display your caller ID.

  • Leaving voicemail messages for people instead of hanging up the call on no answer.

  • Register your business phone number with local and national directories, including Yellow Pages, Google My Business, and other relevant platforms. This helps establish your legitimacy and reduces the chances of your calls being flagged as spam.

If your business number is being flagged as spam, you can contact the phone carriers such as EE, Vodafone, Three etc or the call blocking app to dispute the flag.  However, there is no guarantee that the flag will be removed.
